I know a immigrant chemist, who back in 1994 opened a lab in the south side of Chicago. He helped thousands of poor people who could not afford a doctor. He did cultures to determine infections, and did blood tests, and provided medicine. He was charged with practicing medicine and convicted of medicare fraud for $300,000. His lab was shut down. He never pretended to be a doctor. But doctors sent patients to him for testing. I met him at a Ross Perot rally.

A great friend of mine, cynically says, "The primary job of a doctor is to stand in the way of your healthcare until they get paid". I really appreciate the knowledge that doctors have, when I need help, and I get care at the V.A. I feel that we should have the right to medication, without an office visit, particularly if I had the condition before.
