This was the beginning idea for a page.

New page

I was watching an episode of Abbott Elementary and one of the members of the PTA wanted to ban a book from the school library. She had no real knowledge of the book, just a feeling that it taught children to not respect their elders. She had never read the book. She made a big enough stink that the book was temporarily banned. Since this is a "sitcom" on TV, by the end of the show rationality had prevailed and the book was not banned.

This reminded me of the rash of book banning that has taken place, mainly in the more conservative states.

One of the first things Hitler did when he came in to power was to ban and burn books.

When I was growing up, the highlight of my week was a visit to the library. My parents never told me I could not take out a certain book. They always looked at what I was borrowing, but that was all.

This is a test/starter page. I'm not sure where I want to go from here.
